| 英文描述 | STREPTOCOCCUS SUIS is a cause of septicemia, meningitis and arthritis in pigs in the newborn to 4-month-old age groups. Deaths of piglets within hours of birth have been described. This organism has also been found in the lung of pigs with pneumonia, both alone and in association with other bacteria, but is not believed to be a cause of primary pneumonia. It also can sometimes be isolated from other conditions, such as endocarditis, encephalitis, polyserositis, perionitis, abscesses, and abortion in pigs of all ages. Many normal pigs may be carriers. Other streptococci can also cause septicemia in young pigs. |
